Leh is situated roughly between 32 to 36 degree north Latitude and 75 to 80 degree East longitude and altitude ranging from 2300 mtrs to 5000 mtrs above sea level. District Leh with and area of 45100 Sq. Kms. makes it one of the largest District in the country. The District is bounded by Pakistan occupied Kashmir in the west and China in the North and eastern part and Lahul Spiti of Himachal Pradesh in the south east. It is at a distance of 434 Kms from State capital (summer) Srinagar and 474 Kms from Manali (HP). Topographically, the whole of the district is mountainous with three parallel ranges of the Himalayas, the Zanskar, the Ladakh and the Karakoram. Between these ranges, the Shayok, Indus and Zanskar rivers flow and most of the population lives in valleys of these rivers.

Itinerary

Our service will start on your arrival at Srinagar aiport, where you will meet & greet our representative who will escort you toHotel Srinagar. At evening enjoy Shikara Ride on World’s famous Dal Lake, overnight stay at Hotel in Srinagar

In the morning after breakfast you will leave for Kargil (217 Kms) via Sonmarg. Enjoy sometime at Sonmarg. Sonmarg is though yet another spectacular facet of country side in Kashmir, this time in Sind Valley. The Sind Valley is the largest tributary of the valley of Kashmir. It is upwards of sixty miles long, and valley and deep rock –girt gorge to open grassy meadow land and village dotted slopes. Sonmarg ”Meadows of Gold” (84 kms).The mountains around Sonmarg are covered with several Glaciers, one of the famous being the Thajiswas Glacier. This scenic river of ice is set ad mist lush meadows and foliage and is three (03 kms) walk or pony ride. After enjoying sometime at Sonmarg, proceed to Kargil. Overnight stay at Kargil.

In the morning after breakfast you will leave for Leh from Kargil, on the way to Leh you will enjoy all sightseeing. After reaching Leh, Check-in at Hotel, overnight stay at Hotel in Leh.

On this day you will go a sightseeing trip to some ancient monasteries and most popular in this area. Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey palace was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of 17th century AD. Main attraction in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue inside the Dresthang Gompa. Thiksey Gompa, close to Shey is about 17 kms from Leh. The monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful in Ladakh and belongs to the Geluks paorder. This Monastery is more than 500 year old. Hemis Monastery, about 45 kms south of Leh it is one of the most famous and largest monastery in Ladakh. It belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17’Th century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by Mountain and fronted by long Mani walls. Sindhu ghard Darshan to Holy Indus River. After breakfast we drive to Nubra Valley. The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardong La (The Highest Motorable Road In The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,380 ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. The average altitude of the valley is 10,000 Ft. above sea level. Upon arrival in Nubra we check in at our Camp / Hotel in Hunder for Overnight stay. In the evening you can walk around the tiny villages to see how the locals live in this part of the world. A visit to a Ladakhi home can be arranged. Overnight Stay at the Camp or Hotel at Hunder.

Turtuk is a village in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir It is located in the Nubra tehsil, 205 km from the Leh town, on the banks of the Shyok River. Turtuk was under Pakistan’s control until 1971, after which India gained control of this strategic area. Geographically, Turtuk lies in the Baltistan Region and is one among four such villages in India, the other three being Tyakshi, Chalunkha and Thang. It is predominantly a Muslim village, and residents speak languages including Balti, Ladakhi and Urdu. Turtuk is the last outpost in India after which the Pakistan-controlled Gilgit-Baltistan begins. Turtuk is one of the gateways to the Siachen Glacier.

After breakfast drive back to Pangong via Agham Shayok road . Arrive Pangong Lake situated at 13,930 feet. This famous high altitude Lake of Pangong is 5- 8Kms wide and over 140 Kms long with 30 % in India and 70% in China. This large, serene lake forms a brilliant color variation including deep blue, dark green, turquoise,etc. overnight stay at Pangong.

Full day trip, after early morning breakfast we leave for Pangong Lake through Changla pass (5,300 mtr, 17,586 ft) world third highest motorable road in the world. After 2 hrs of drive you reach to Changla pass, stop for a short period for photography. Drive ascending towards Pangong reach Tangtse where you can relax for a cup of tea/ coffee. Leaving Tangtse for Pangong you pass through few small villages of Changthang and finally you can have a sudden view of the Pangong lake

After breakfast drive to Tsomoriri . The Tsomoriri Lake is located at 14,000 ft. near a small village of Korzok. Recently opened to foreigners due to the proximity of the Chinese border, the Changthang is a land of wilderness and magnificent landscapes, Tsomoriri Lake is also the breeding ground for numerous species of birds, like the bar headed goose, crested grebe, the Brahmini duck (ruddy sheldrake) and the brown-headed gull. The Tsomorir Lake is 8 kms wide and 28 kms long. Upon arrival we check in at our camp for overnight

Taklang La (17586ft): Taklang La pass is the second highest motorable pass in the world. On top of pass you can visit an Ariel view of Tso-Kar Lake and perfect point for photography of snow peaks and by crossing the pass and after 2 hours’ drive you will enter Ladakh “The Land of Endless Discovery”. Arrive Jispa and Overnight at hotels in Jispa

Leave Jispa via Atal Tunnel reach in Manali .Upon arrival in Manali we check in at our tented campsite for overnight stay.
