Trip to Dalhousie, Dharamshala, & Amritsar in May '26
Mr. Tapan Mukherjee is not a professional travel company manager. Instead of replying to all the issues faced in the tour, he tries to do a character assassination. Everyone, please read the negative comments of all the previous travellers and see the comments given by Tapan against that traveller. Please travel at your own risk with him. You will regret travelling with this company.
Trip to Dalhousie, Dharamshala, & Amritsar
I would like request all travellers to check the credentials of this Himalyan Tours and travel company run by Tapan Mukerjee. He specialises in Kashmir travels and so I donot want to comment in this area. However, he outsources the travels to the managers in his group to other parts of India. These managers are not knowing the topography or the weather condition of the travel location. I was one of the unfortunate travellers along with my family in one of the recently concluded tour to Dalhousie – Dharmashala – Amritsar tour ’26. This tour got concluded on 30th May ’26. We faced lots of issues which I have highlighted to Partha (Manager) and Tapan Mukerjee over whattsapp. Issues faced
1. Bus issue : We were 22 travellers in the trip. We were cramped up in a 2 by 2 traveller with 26 occupancy. It was very uncomfortable to travel in the bus for the 6 days. On top of that, due to severe weather condition in India now in May ’26, the driver did not turn on the AC for the first 2 days. After a lot of verbal fight, the driver turned on the AC on the 3rd day that too st around 5 PM. The issue was not that AC cannot be turned on the hills but monetory issue which Tapan or Partha didnot give to the driver. After extra money was given on 3rd day, the AC was turned on after 5 PM. By that time, all the travellers were feeling sick due to the heat.
2. Driver issue : The bus and the driver was taken for the 1st time. It is expected that a professional travel company will have a tie up with a time tested bus and a travel friendly driver. In our case, the driver was very rude. He had issues with almost all the travellers. During our journey on road, he didnot want to stop on the road for a minute or two to take snaps of the snow covered mountains. We had to literaly verbally fight with him to stop the bus for the snaps. Even the AC fan speed was not increased. We all were feeling suffocated in the bus for most of the travel. He was so rude that we all didnot want to speak to him.
3. Travel Manager issue : Manager who was travelling with us was of good nature. I hate to point out lacunae from his end. We were travelling from Khajiar to Dalhousie. On the way is Bada Pathar where we can see the snow covered mountains. Neither the driver nor the travel manager was aware of this point. We came to Dalhousie and then we had to take cars separately at our own cost to visit some of the local places near Dalhousie and also go to Bara Pathar. When we reached that location, we all saw that this location was on our bus way and we could have avoided time as well as extra money from our pocket to see the same location. We had travelled thrice on the same route on the same day to see Bara Pathar thus wasting time as well as money.
4. Food issue : We were served almost the same food in lunch as well as in dinner for the first 2 days. It was eggs always. Breakfast and snacks were different however. After complaining to Partha, the food was altered for lunch and dinner and we got better and variety food after 2 days. Here i would like yo point out that the food chef was good and his preperation were delicious. This is because the chef and helper are time tested and are continuing with the travels for long time.
5. Hotel Issue : The hotel at Amritsar was under developed. The lift of the hotel was inagurated once we reached the hotel. Though the rooms were good, but the reception and outward appearance of the hotel was still to be developed. We were kept in CityGold hotel in Dharmashala. Most of the rooms were small and did not have view. We were unfortunate to get a room which did not have much space beside the bed to move around. Hotel Amar in Dalhousie was on a steep hill upwards. We had to walk up the steep road. There were many travellers in our group who were above the age of 58. They had a difficulty time in climbing the steep road. The management could have taken a hotel on a road which is walkable.

Awesome Tour in KASHMIR & LADAKH conducted by Mr. Tapan Mukherjee
We visited Kashmir & Ladakh in early October,2022. We were 15 all together. I came to know about Tapanbabu from one of my colleagues but never met him physically . We talked to him only over phone . Initially we had some doubts about the tour as we never experienced any tour with him before. But with the progress of the tour, we could realise how well organised it was ! It was so professionally managed that it was absolutely flawless. The hotels & cars provided to us were of excellent quality ! Whenever we called Tapanda over phone , he responded promptly . To speak honestly, we never faced any problem during the course of our travel. We sincerely convey our thanks & gratitude to Tapanda for his fantastically remote controlled systematic arrangements . We all are eagerly looking forward to our next tour with Tapanda.
